Jenny J. Kim
Founder
Jenny J. Kim is the Founder of Avid Associates, a boutique consulting firm dedicated to providing strategic and operational support to early-stage companies and entrepreneurs. The firm specializes in diverse industries such as technology, fintech, retail, and hospitality.
Prior to establishing Avid Associates, Jenny served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Mercari, Inc., a leading consumer-to-consumer marketplace with over 50 million downloads in the U.S. In this role, she managed legal and compliance functions, government relations, and information security, while also overseeing human resources, recruiting, and facilities operations.
Jenny’s expertise as a corporate attorney spans organizations of all sizes, including Fortune 100 companies. Her career includes executive roles at major corporations such as Intel and Visa.
At Visa, Jenny held the position of Senior Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel. She was instrumental in Visa’s landmark $19 billion IPO in 2007—the largest of its time—and subsequently streamlined the company’s public securities filings. She also provided strategic counsel to senior leadership on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters and developed robust Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
